Fire Prevention Week

Write thank-you cards or letters for local firefighters. Use the to identify a local fire department and arrange a time to deliver your cards or letters in person and say thank you for serving your community.

Encourage your school, workplace, family, or community group to join you in recognizing the firefighters who help keep our communities safe.
October 13
U.S. Navy Birthday

Knit or crochet a Handmade With Love hat or scarf to include in care packages for deployed service members.

Celebrate the Navy's birthday by writing a letter of appreciation to a service member. Use the Virtual FOB for letter-writing guidelines and instructions for submitting your letters. The Navy traces its birthday to October 13, 1775.

National Day of the Deployed

If you are in California, sign up for Operation Gratitude's November 14th Assembly Day in Chatsworth, and join volunteers in assembling care packages for 6,000 deployed troops.

Craft a Paracord Lanyard as a tangible way to show your support for deployed service members.

Navy Day

Take a moment to recognize the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have served in the U.S. Navy.

National First Responders Day

Write thank-you letters or cards for local first responders. Encourage your family, friends and community to write letters as well.

Assembly Days
As requests for care packages come in for deployed troops, veterans, and first responders, we schedule Assembly Days at locations across the country. We'll post details here about when and where those events will take place. Assembly Days are an opportunity for communities and volunteers to come together to pack Operation Gratitude's signature care packages in honor of those who serve. We bring the supplies and the assembly line, you just show up ready to pack with us.
